The Mass Effect 3 Special Edition for the Wii U is a customized port of the original game that integrates unique GamePad functionality, bundles several key downloadable content (DLC) packs, and features an interactive comic to bridge the story gap for players new to the series. 

Key Features and Content

• Wii U GamePad Integration: The most notable exclusive feature is the tactical control offered by the Wii U GamePad's touchscreen.
• Tactical Map: The GamePad displays a real-time map of the surrounding area, showing enemy and squadmate positions, objectives, and nearby non-player characters (NPCs).
• Squad Command: Players can command their squad members to move or use specific powers by tapping and dragging their icons directly on the touchscreen, allowing for more precise control than other versions.
• Quick Abilities: Four powers or abilities can be mapped to virtual buttons on the sides of the GamePad screen for instant, real-time activation without pausing the game in the traditional radial menu.
• Off-TV Play: The entire game is playable directly on the GamePad screen, without needing a TV.
• Gamepad Audio: Game sounds can be streamed directly to headphones connected to the GamePad.
• Included Downloadable Content (DLC): The Special Edition comes standard with several major DLC packs integrated into the main game:
• From Ashes: Adds the Prothean squad member Javik and an extra mission.
• Extended Cut ending: Provides additional cinematics and epilogue sequences to expand upon the original ending.
• Multiplayer Packs: Includes the Resurgence, Rebellion, and Earth co-operative multiplayer expansion packs, which add new maps, characters, and weapons.
