THE FRAME SIZE IS 750 X 660 MM, FRAMED WITH A BEAUTIFUL GERMAN SILVER FRAME (70MM).  THE FRAME IS NEW, THE PAINTING WAS CLEANED UP. THE FRAMING IS WORTH R700.   ALTHOUGH THE PAINTING IS NOT SIGNED, KARL PASSED AWAY IN 1985, WHICH MAKES THE PAINTING AT LEAST 25 YEARS OLD  

Notice the manner in which the artist has represented the clarity of the water in the breaking wave, the foam on the water, the rocks on the shoreline with the moored boat and the seagull swooping in the faint clouds. This is an absolutely gorgeous painting.  You will certainly enjoy its beauty for years to come.

 I PURCHASED THE ART ON AN AUCTION AND RE FRAMED IT.  AN OLD OIL PAINTING LIKE THIS DESERVES TO BE LOOKED AFTER IN A BEAUTIFUL FRAME.  THE ARTIST WAS NOT SHY WITH HIS PAINT, THICK LAYERS OF OIL PAINT WITH PALLET KNIFE AND BRUSH STROKES.  A BEAUTIFUL SCENE OF A COTTAGE IN THE WOODS BY THE RIVER SIDE.  I SAW THE OTHER DAY THAT ONE OF HIS PRINTS ART SELLING FOE R1032.
