Matchbox 16G PONTIAC T ROOF
Matchbox released the Pontiac Trans-Am Firebird in 1980, the first releases were light metallic brown. In 1981-1982 they became light gold, later dark gold. (I have a problem differentiating between light metallic brown and light gold) In 1982-1983 they were switched to white with a red interior.
In 1982 the Pontiac T roof was released which is based on the same casting with an open targa top, also on No.16. This is usually known as 16g. The Lesney releases are black with Lesney on the baseplate. Production continued well into the period of the new ownership
