Lovely quality Spark model of the very successful Matra MS670 racecar which won Le Mans (in various guises) from 1972 to 1974. It also won the World Sportscar Championship in 1973/74.
Matra was a uniquely French car company and provided Tyrrell with its 1969 chassis in which Jackie Stewart won the F1 championship. It then developed its own V12 engine which had a very distinctive wailing engine note.
Although the V12 engine was not successful in F1 in the early 1970s, an endurance version was developed and used by Matra to great effect in the MS670. It stopped the Ferrari 312Pb car from winning Le Mans.
A pretty model in classic French/Gitanes livery, it is an important addition to any model Le Mans collection and has a distinctive look to go with its engine note!
In mint condition and supplied in its original box also mint.
