- Skeletor is the main antagonist of the Masters of the Universe franchise and the most dangerous threat on Eternia. His sole goal is to possess the secrets of Castle Grayskull and become the master of the universe, putting him in direct conflict with He-Man.
- Initially presented as an evil demon from another dimension, Skeletor's origins evolved to hint that he might have once been Keldor, the brother of King Randor.
- In the 2002 relaunch, Skeletor's backstory developed into that of a dashing, ambitious villain.
- Skeletor was one of the few characters to transition to The New Adventures of He-Man, where he continued his relentless pursuit of He-Man in the far future.
