Transceiver, RS232, 3V-5.5V supply, 2 Drivers, DIP-16Product OverviewThe MAX3232ECPE+ is a ±15KV ESD protected true RS232 transceiver in 16 pin DIPpackage. This 3V powered EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communications interfacedevice has low power consumption, high data rate capabilities and enhancedelectrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. The enhanced ESD structure protectsall transmitter outputs and receiver inputs to ±15KV using IEC 1000-4-2 air-gapdischarge, ±8KV using IEC 1000-4-2 contact discharge and ±15KV using human bodymodel. A low dropout transmitter output stage delivers true RS232 performancefrom 3V to 5.5V power supply using an internal dual charge pump. The charge pumprequires only four small 0.1µF capacitors for operation from 3.3V supply. TheMAX3232E has two receivers and two transmitters.
