Product OverviewThe MAX13448EESD+ is a ±80V fault protected, full duplex RS485 transceiver in 14pin NSOIC package. The device operates from 3V to 5.5V supply and has true failsafe circuitry which provides logic high receiver output when receiver inputsare open or shorted. This enables all receiver outputs on a terminated bus tooutput logic high when all transmitters are disabled. The MAX13448E containsslew rate limited driver that minimizes EMI and reduces reflections caused byimproperly terminated cables, it allows error free data transmission at datarates up to 500Kbps with +5V supply and 250Kbps with +3.3V supply. The devicealso includes hot swap capability to eliminate false transitions on the busduring power-up or hot insertion. The driver and receiver has active-high andactive-low enables respectively, that can be connected together externally toserve as a direction control.
