Product OverviewThe MAX13487EESA+T is a half duplex, ±15KV ESD protected RS485/RS422 compatibletransceiver with AutoDirection control architecture in 8 pin NSOIC package. This+5V powered transceiver has one driver and one receiver. The MAX13487E includeshot swap capability to eliminate false transitions on bus during power-up orlive insertion. AutoDirection control architecture makes the device ideal forapplications such as isolated RS485 ports where the driver input is used inconjunction with driver enable signal to drive differential bus. The MAX13487Ehas reduced slew rate drivers that minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused byimproperly terminated cables allowing error free transmission up to 500Kbps. Thedevice has 1/4 unit load receiver input impedance, it allows up to 128transceivers on the bus. All driver outputs are protected to ±15KV ESD using thehuman body model (HBM).
