This device is functionally equivalent to the industry standardMAX491 and 75180 and is designed for space constrained, full duplex RS422applications. The driver slew rate is not limited allowing it to transmit up to12Mbps. The driver output is short circuit current limited and is protectedagainst excessive power dissipation by thermal-shutdown circuitry that placesthe driver outputs into a high impedance state.
