Product OverviewThe MAX221CUE+ is a +5V powered single RS232 transceiver with AutoShutdown in 16pin TSSOP package. This RS232 transmit/receive and V.28 communication interfacedevice has automatic shutdown/wake-up features and high data rate capabilities.The MAX221 achieves a low 1µA supply current with Maxim's revolutionaryAutoShutdown feature. AutoShutdown saves power without changes to existing BIOSor operating system by entering low power shutdown mode when RS232 cable isdisconnected or when transmitter of connected peripheral is off. The devicewakes up and drives INVALID (complementary) pin high when an active RS232 cableis connected.
