Oscillator IC, Voltage Controlled, 998 MHz, 2.7 V to 5.5 V, µMAX-8Product OverviewThe MAX2624EUA+ is a monolithic voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) in 8 pinµMAX package. It is implemented as LC oscillator topology by integrating all ofthe tank components on-chip. This easy to use, self contained VCO combines anintegrated oscillator and output buffer. The inductor and varactor elements oftank circuits are integrated on-chip and greatly simplify application of thedevice. In addition, the centre frequency of oscillation and frequency span arefactory preset to provide frequency range versus control voltage. An externaltuning voltage controls the oscillation frequency. The output signals arebuffered by an amplifier stage matched on-chip to 50 ohm. The MAX2624 requiresonly 8mA of supply current. In shutdown mode, the supply current is reduced to0.1µA.
