Product OverviewThe MAX3070EESD+ is a ±15kV ESD-protected, fail-safe, hot-swap, RS-485/RS-422Transceiver. This device includes fail-safe circuitry, guaranteeing a logic-highreceiver output when receiver inputs are open or shorted. The receiver outputs alogic high if all transmitters on a terminated bus are disabled (highimpedance). The MAX3070E include a hot-swap capability to eliminate falsetransitions on the bus during power-up or hot insertion. The MAX3070E featurereduced slew-rate drivers that minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused byimproperly terminated cables, allowing error-free data transmission up to250kbps. The MAX3070E is intended for full-duplex communications. The MAX3070Etransceiver draw 800µA of supply current when unloaded or when fully loaded withthe drivers disabled.
