Product OverviewThe MAX3072EESA+ is a ±15kV ESD-protected, fail-safe, hot-swap, RS-485/RS-422Transceiver. This device includes fail-safe circuitry, guaranteeing a logic-highreceiver output when receiver inputs are open or shorted. The receiver outputs alogic high if all transmitters on a terminated bus are disabled (highimpedance). The MAX3072EESA+ include a hot-swap capability to eliminate falsetransitions on the bus during power-up or hot insertion. The MAX3072E featurereduced slew-rate drivers that minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused byimproperly terminated cables, allowing error-free data transmission up to250kbps. The MAX3073E also feature slew rate-limited drivers but allow transmitspeeds up to 500kbps. The MAX3072E is intended for half-duplex communications.The MAX3072EESA+ transceiver draw 800µA of supply current when unloaded or whenfully loaded with the drivers disabled.
