Product OverviewThe MAX3089ECSD+ is a ±15KVESD protected, fail-safe, high speed RS485/RS422transceiver in 14 pin NSOIC package. It contains one driver and one receiver.The device features fail-safe circuitry which has a logic high receiver outputwhen the receiver inputs are open or shorted. This means that the receiveroutput will be logic high if all transmitters on a terminated bus are disabled(high impedance). MAX3089ECSD+ slew rate is selectable between 115Kbps, 500Kbpsand 10Mbps by driving a selector pin with a single three-state driver. Thetransmitter output and receiver input is protected by ±15KV using human bodymodel with enhanced ESD protection. This transceiver typically draws 375µA ofsupply current when unloaded or when fully loaded with the drivers disabled.
