Product OverviewThe MAX31911AUI+ is an industrial, octal, digital input translator/serializer in28 pin TSSOP package. The industrial interface serializer translates conditionsand serializes the 24V digital output of sensors and switches. It provides thefront-end interface circuit of a programmable logic controller digital inputmodule. The device features integrated current limiting, low pass filtering andchannel serialization. Input current limiting allows a significant reduction inpower consumed from the field voltage supply as compared to traditional discreteresistor-divider implementations. Selectable on-chip low pass filters allowflexible debouncing and filtering of sensor outputs based on the application.On-chip serialization allows a drastic reduction in the number of optocouplersused for isolation.
