Product OverviewThe MAX3227EAAE+ is a ±15KV ESD protected, 1µA, 1Mbps, RS232 transceiver withAutoShutdown Plus in 16 pin SSOP package. The device is 3V powered EIA/TIA-232and V.28/V.24 communication interfaces with automatic shutdown/wakeup feature,high data rate capabilities and enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD)protection. The transmitter output and receiver input are protected to ±15KVusing IEC 1000-4-2 air-gap discharge, ±8KV using IEC 1000-4-2 contact dischargeand ±15KV using human body model. The device automatically enters a low powershutdown mode when the RS232 cable is disconnected or the transmitters of theconnected peripherals are inactive. The UART driving the transmitter inputs isinactive for more than 30 seconds, it turn on again when the device sense avalid transition at any transmitter or receiver input.
