Product OverviewThe MAX3227EAE+ is a 1µA supply current, 1Mbps, 3V to 5.5V, RS232 transceiverwith AutoShutdown Plus in 16 pin SSOP package. The device is 3V poweredEIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communication interfaces with automaticshutdown/wakeup characteristics and high data rate capabilities. This deviceautomatically enters to low power shutdown mode when the RS232 cable isdisconnected or the transmitters of the connected peripherals are inactive. UARTdriving the transmitter inputs is inactive for more than 30seconds and it turnon again when they sense a valid transition at any transmitter or receiverinput. AutoShutdown Plus saves power without changes to the existing BIOS oroperating system. It has a logic level output (READY) that asserts when thecharge pump is regulating and the device is ready to begin transmitting.
