Product OverviewThe MAX3232EEWE+T is a ±15KV ESD protected true RS232 transceiver in 16 pinWSOIC package. This 3V powered EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communicationsinterface device has low power consumption, high data rate capabilities andenhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. The enhanced ESD structureprotects all transmitter outputs and receiver inputs to ±15KV using IEC 1000-4-2air-gap discharge, ±8KV using IEC 1000-4-2 contact discharge and ±15KV usinghuman body model. A low dropout transmitter output stage delivers true RS232performance from 3V to 5.5V power supply using an internal dual charge pump. Thecharge pump requires only four small 0.1µF capacitors for operation from 3.3Vsupply. The MAX3232E has two receivers and two transmitters.
