Product OverviewThe MAX3245ECWI+ from Maxim Integrated Products is a ±15KV ESD protected, 1µA,1Mbps, RS232 transceiver with AutoShutdown Plus in 28 pin WSOIC package. Thedevice is 3V powered EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communication interfaces withautomatic shutdown/wakeup feature, high data rate capabilities and enhanced ESDprotection. The transmitter output and receiver input are protected to ±15KVusing IEC 1000-4-2 air-gap discharge, ±8KV using IEC 1000-4-2 contact dischargeand ±15KV using human body model. The device automatically enters a low powershutdown mode when RS232 cable is disconnected or the transmitters of theconnected peripherals are inactive. The UART driving transmitter inputs isinactive for more than30seconds, it turns on again when device sense a validtransition at any transmitter or receiver input.
