Product OverviewThe MAX3464CSA+ is a +5V, fail-safe, 20Mbps, profibus RS485/RS422 transceiver in8 pin NSOIC package. It is designed to meet TIA/EIA-422-B, TIA/EIA-485-A, V.11and X.27 standards. The transceiver complies with the profibus specificationproviding +2.1V output level with a 54ohm load, 20Mbps data rate and output skewless than 2ns. It contains one three-state differential line driver and onedifferential input line receiver. The device operate from a +5V supply and has atrue fail-safe circuitry which gives a logic-high receiver output when thereceiver inputs are open or shorted. This enables all receiver outputs on aterminated bus to output logic highs when all transmitters are disabled. It hasa 1/4 standard unit load receiver input impedance that allows 128 transceiverson the bus.
