Product OverviewThe MAX3485ECSA+T is a 3.3V powered, ±15KV ESD protected true RS485/RS422transceiver in 8 pin NSOIC package. This low power transceiver contains onedriver and one receiver. The MAX3485E transmits up to 15Mbps. It has enhancedESD protection. All transmitter outputs and receiver inputs are protected to±15KV using IEC 1000-4-2 air-gap discharge, ±8KV using IEC 1000-4-2 contactdischarge and ±15KV using human body model. Driver is short circuit currentlimited and it is protected against excessive power dissipation by thermalshutdown circuitry that places the driver outputs into a high impedance state.The receiver input has a fail-safe feature that provides logic high output ifboth inputs are open circuit.
