Product OverviewThe MAX491ECSD+T is a ±15KV ESD protected, low power RS485/RS422 transceiver in14 pin NSOIC package. This device is used as a low power transceiver for RS485and RS422 communications in harsh environments. The driver output and receiverinput is protected against ±15KV electro static discharge (ESD) shocks withoutlatch-up. The slew rate is not limited allowing it to transmit up to 2.5Mbps.The driver is short circuit current limited and is protected against excessivepower dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driver outputsinto a high impedance state.
