Product OverviewThe MAX7328AWE+ from Maxim Integrated Products is an I2C port expander witheight I/O port in 16 pin WSOIC package. This is a 2-wire serial interfacedperipheral with eight I/O ports. Any port can be used as a logic input or anopen-drain output. All input ports are continuously monitored for state changes(transition detection). Transitions are alerted through the open-drain, 5.5Vtolerant active-low INT output. The MAX7328 is a member of a family of pincompatible port expanders with a choice of input ports, open-drain I/O ports andpush-pull output ports. It can be addressed by three hardware address pins foruse of up to eight devices (up to 16 using both MAX7328/MAX7329).
