Striking model from the Senna era at McLaren - the 1991 MP4-6 as driven by Senna to his third World Championship. This car also won the 1991 Constructors Championship.
It was the last manual-shift gearbox car to win the Championship and the only V12 car to ever do so using a bespoke Honda V12 engine developed for the 1991 season.
Gerhard Berger was Senna's team mate in 1990/91. Berger had replaced Prost with whom Senna had had massively contentious seasons in 1988/1989 repeatedly clashing on and off track. Ultimately this lead to Prost leaving McLaren to join Ferrari and continue his rivalry with Senna from the other side.
In 1991 Senna and McLaren had to contend with Mansell in a very quick Williams which subsequently went to to win the 1992 and 1993 Championships.
This model has been upgraded to full Marlboro livery - not standard. It forms part of the Minichamps Ayrton Senna Racing Car Collection.
In mint condition and supplied in its original box also excellent.
Imported and from my private collection.
