An elegant Japanese bronze vase. Late 19th / early 20th century. Meiji period.
Ovoid in shape with a plum patina, the vase is decorated in raised relief on the body, with perched and fluttering birds.
Signed to the base : ('Dai Nippon Kyoto Yoshida zo'), the mark of the Nomura workshop in Kyoto.
Note : there is a small hole near the base of the vase (intentional, not incidental) which suggests it was used as a lamp base at some point. The overall condition is very good with excellent patina and minimal wear.
Height : 21.5 cm
Width (widest point) : 12 cm
Weight : 820 grams
