Offered on this auction is this lovely Meissen Double Salt Holder.
It dates to about 1860.
This Salt Holder depicts a girl sitting inbetween two bushel baskets holding some flowers. The girls dress and the baskets and the base of the item are decorated with pink flowers on a white ground. The bushel baskets are the salt holders.
It has the crossed swords mark of the period painted in blue under its base, and there are some incised numbers.
This item measures 14.5 cm in length, 7.5 cm wide and 12.58 cm high.
This item is in Excellent Condition (See Photos).
There are no chips, cracks or restorations.
The finish is gloss and the colours are full bodied.
