Hardcover, published by M.O. Collins (Pvt.) Ltd, 1975. The paper jacket is whole, with only a very few minor tears to the top edge, and is also lightly soiled in places. The blue boards are clean, square and unmarked, as are all the pages within, which are virtually in as new condition. "This is the story of Captain John McClure as he might have told it himself. As an account of India and the East towards the end of the eighteenth century, it is full of topical interest not only of the living conditions but also of the relationship between the London Directors of the East India Company and their representatives overseas. John McClure was a man of outstanding determination and courage and a very competent hydrographer, as will be seen from the copies of his charts contained in the book."
