Since ancient times Chrysoberyl Cats Eye (Lehsunia Stone) has been regarded as one of the most magical gemstones and acts as a talisman. It is said that this stone brings wealth and intellect to a person.
Chrysoberyl Cats Eye is a variety of the mineral chrysoberyl that exhibits a phenomenon known as chatoyancy, or the cats eye effect. This optical effect occurs due to needle-like inclusions within the stone, typically rutile, which reflect light in a way that creates a bright line across the gems surface, resembling a cats eye. This line appears to move when the stone is rotated, adding to its mystique and allure.
Chrysoberyl was first discovered in the Ural Mountains of Russia in the 18th century. However, the variety of cats eyes has been known and valued in various cultures for much longer. Significant Chrysoberyl Cat Eye deposits have been found in Brazil, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and Tanzania, with Sri Lanka being one of the most renowned sources.
