Echeveria elegans, commonly known as the Mexican Snowball or Mexican Rose, is a popular, low-maintenance, clumping succulent cherished for its attractive, symmetrical rosettes of fleshy, silvery-blue or pale green leaves. It is native to the semi-desert regions of Mexico.
The plant forms tight, spoon-shaped, powdery leaves in a rosette shape
It freely produces offsets (pups) to form dense clusters or a matted ground cover over time.
Easy to grow, making it ideal for both novice and experienced gardeners.
It is non-toxic and pet-safe for cats and dogs.
Highly drought-tolerant due to its ability to store water in its leaves.  Like many plants, it helps to purify the air.

Gardens:  Rock gardens and gravel gardens.     Ground cover or edging plant for flowerbeds.    Borders in large beds, providing a strong visual contrast with other plants.   Living walls and green roofs.
Excellent for pots, containers, window boxes, and hanging baskets, either on its own or in mixed succulent arrangements.
Suitable as an indoor houseplant, provided it receives enough bright light
Traditional medicine: It has been traditionally used in some areas to treat skin inflammations due to purported anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. However, no part of the plant is intended to be used as food.
Pollinators: The flowers attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
Light: Prefers full sun to partial shade. In hot climates, protect it from intense midday sun to prevent leaf burn.
Soil: Requires a very porous, well-draining soil mix (like a cactus or succulent blend amended with perlite or coarse sand) to prevent root rot.
Watering: Water thoroughly only when the soil has dried out completely. It is better to underwater than overwater. Avoid getting water into the center of the rosette, which can cause rot.
Temperature: Frost-tender; protect from temperatures below 0°C. It is best grown in containers in colder climates so it can be moved indoors during winter.
Maintenance: Remove dead leaves from the base of the plant to prevent pests (like mealybugs). Rejuvenate every few years by separating and replanting the offsets.
