It is designed to serve as anEthernet network interface for any microcontroller equipped with SPI or standardparallel port. ENC424J600 device meets all of the IEEE 802.3 specificationsapplicable to 10Base-T and 100Base-TX Ethernet including many optional clausessuch as auto negotiation. This Ethernet controller incorporates a number ofpacket filtering schemes to limit incoming packets. They also provide aninternal 16bit wide DMA for fast data throughput and support for hardware IPchecksum calculations. A generous 24Kbyte onchip RAM buffer is available for TXand RX operations. It may also be used by host microcontroller for generalpurpose storage.
