The MCP73113 can accept an absolute maximum of18V input and provides a 6.5V overvoltage protection. The output current can isprogrammable to be between 130 and 1100mA. The MCP73113 is fully specified overthe ambient temperature range of -40 to 85°C. The MCP73113 device providesspecific charge algorithms for Li-ion/Li-polymer batteries to achieve optimalcapacity and safety in the shortest charging time possible. This device employsa constant current/constant voltage charge algorithm. The various chargingvoltage regulation provides design engineers flexibility to use in differentapplications.
