The PIC16F883features 256 bytes of EEPROM data memory, self programming, an ICD, 2comparators, 11 channels of 10-bit Analogue-to-digital (A/D) converter, 1capture/compare/PWM and 1 Enhanced capture/compare/PWM functions, a synchronousserial port that can be configured as either 3-wire Serial Peripheral Interface(SPI) or the 2-wire Inter-Integrated Circuit (I²C) bus and an Enhanced UniversalAsynchronous Receiver Transmitter (EUSART). The PIC16F883 devices have twotimers that offer necessary delays on power-up. One is the Oscillator Start-upTimer (OST), intended to keep the chip in reset until the crystal oscillator isstable.
