The Maytronics Mineral Swim V2 Pro20 is an integrated residential pool sanitation system designed for swimming pools up to approximately 75,000 litres.
Rather than relying on one treatment process alone, the Pro20 combines a mineral or salt chlorination Generator Module with a separate ozone Purifier Module.
The Generator Module converts dissolved chloride from suitable swimming pool salt or compatible Mineral Swim Dead Sea Minerals into chlorine sanitiser through electrolysis.
The Purifier Module provides an additional ozone purification stage that helps oxidise organic contaminants before the treated water returns to the swimming pool.
This combined approach allows the system to maintain a suitable residual sanitiser while ozone reduces some of the oxidation workload that would otherwise need to be handled entirely by chlorine.
The Pro20 has a nominal chlorine production rate of approximately 20 grams per hour.
Manufacturer information supplied for the Mineral Swim system states that the ozone purification stage can reduce chlorine demand by up to 80% under suitable operating conditions.
Actual results will depend on pool conditions, water chemistry, filtration, system setup, operating time and chlorine demand.
The Mineral Swim V2 Pro20 should therefore not be described as a chlorine-free pool system.
It remains a chlorination system supported by ozone purification.
The Mineral Swim V2 Pro20 is rated for residential swimming pools up to approximately 75,000 litres.
This figure should be used as a sizing guideline rather than the only factor considered when selecting the system.
Actual chlorine demand can vary according to:
South African swimming pools exposed to strong summer sunlight or heavy use may require longer filtration periods or different operating settings than pools operating under milder conditions.
Pools operating close to the maximum recommended volume should therefore be assessed according to their actual chlorine demand.
The Mineral Swim V2 Pro20 Generator Module has a nominal chlorine production rate of approximately 20 grams per hour.
The chlorine is generated from chloride dissolved in the pool water.
The chloride can be supplied through:
The Generator Module continuously produces chlorine sanitiser while the pool circulation system and chlorination system are operating correctly.
This provides the residual sanitiser required in the swimming pool.
The Pro20 should therefore not be confused with the Pro25.
The Pro20 is the 20 g/hour model in the supplied Mineral Swim V2 range.
The Mineral Swim V2 Pro20 combines two separate treatment technologies within one coordinated sanitation system.
Pool water first moves through the circulation and filtration system.
The Mineral Swim equipment then provides:
The Generator Module maintains the chlorine sanitiser needed in the pool.
The Purifier Module adds an additional oxidation stage to reduce some of the contaminant load before treated water returns to the swimming pool.
For reliable operation, the system still depends on:
The Generator Module performs the primary chlorination function of the system.
It converts dissolved chloride contained in:
into active chlorine sanitiser through electrolysis.
The Generator Module:
The Generator Module should not be confused with the Purifier Module.
The Generator Module is responsible for chlorine production.
The Purifier Module provides the second treatment stage of the Pro20 system.
The Purifier uses ozone as an additional oxidation process.
Ozone reacts rapidly with many organic contaminants and then naturally converts back to oxygen.
The Purifier Module:
According to supplied manufacturer material, the ozone treatment stage can reduce chlorine demand by up to 80% under suitable operating conditions.
This does not remove the need for:
