This beautiful camera is the result of the collaboration between Minolta and Leica. Unknown to many, Minolta had a hand in the design of the Leica "R" series of cameras, and built the R3, R 4, and R 5 Leicas in Japan before production moved to Germany. The Leica influence is noticeable in the sleek, robust design and excellent electronic suite. As opposed to many cameras, the Minolta, when on "Automatic" mode allows for aperture priority, so you control the depth of field while the camera controls the shutter speed.
