MOERIS POCKET WATCH = Swiss Made.
Moeris originally formed in 1893 in St. Imier by Moeri & Jeanneret. Moeri, Fritz of St Imer. This company was the successor to Moeri & Jeanneret of St Imer. The company was formed sometime shortly after Jeanneret died in 1900. In 1905 Moeri was one of the companies experimenting with the new Invar hairspring in their watches. At the Exhibition in Milan in 1906, the company won an Hors Concours award for being a member of the jury.
In 1909 the company was granted a patent for a timer housed in Binoculars. By 1923 they were producing chronographs and timers as well as their watches.
The ‘Fabrique des Montres Moeris or F. Moeri S.A. of St Imer name came into being sometime before 1966, but were taken over by Tissot in the 1970’s.

Vintage Gold Filled "Moeris" Pocket Watch.
A lovely pocket watch in good condition and in good working order, the watch has a white dial, black Roman numeral hour markers, blued steel hands and subsidiary seconds dial.
It is a hand wound movment, and signed on the movment "Moeris".
Gold Filled (g.f. or Rolled Gold) is real gold over a base metal, it has 100 time more gold than gold plate jewelry.
Gold Filled looks and usually wears as low carat gold.
It is very hard wearing and under normal wear conditions it should last a lifetime.
It is often referred to as rolled gold .
Approximately 51mm in diameter and 72mm to the top of the bow.

Condition: Very Good, Seems to be working fine, but probably needs a service, some very minor scratches on the gold where it is obviously been opened regularly, otherwise really neat! Sold as seen in the images!
