After the massive success of the ubiquitous Sing It Back, previously featured on I Am Not A Doctor in its original version, and also featured here in its remixed form, Moloko are back with their third album. The first impression is that Moloko have made their sound a bit more accessible, especially with the no less ubiquitous The Time Is Now. But this impression is short lived, and tracks like Pure Pleasure Seeker, Remain The Same or Somebody Somewhere soon reveal their true colours. Mark Brydon and Roisin Murphy are two mad people, and this album is a bit of an experience. With a more "live" sound than its two predecessors, Things To Make and Do is quite disconcerting in its contemp. Moving away from the Trip-Hop tag that was attached to their back a bit too quickly, Moloko continue to invent their own style, borrowing form pop, ambient, techno, electro and other unconventional genres. After all, this album comes from the people who sugested on Do You Like My Tight Sweater? to smell the CD before and after use to experience the full impact of Moloko. This might explain things! Or does it?25
