Monster Hunter: Rise is a action role-playing game and the sixth mainline installment in the Monster Hunter series. The game takes place in a world known as the "New World," where players control a hunter who travels to different locations to hunt down large, dangerous creatures known as "Monsters." The goal of the game is to complete quests and hunt these monsters to gain resources and materials which can then be used to craft weapons and equipment to make the hunter stronger and better equipped to take on even tougher monsters.

In terms of gameplay, it features both single player and multiplayer options. Players have access to a variety of weapons, each with unique playstyles and abilities, to use in battle against the monsters. The game also features a variety of mechanics such as traps, environmental interactions, and mounted combat, to help players bring down the monsters they are hunting. In addition to hunting, players can also collect resources, complete quests, and craft new equipment to enhance their abilities.

Some of the distinctive features include the new "Wirebug" mechanic, which allows players to traverse the environment and attack monsters with increased mobility, and the new "Palamute" companion, a dog-like creature that can be used in battle to assist the player. The game also introduces a new setting, the "Sacred Land of the Lusha," as well as new monsters to hunt and new weapons to craft.
