Moonstone is a sodium-potassium aluminium silicate of the feldspar group that displays a pearly and opalescent schiller. An alternative name is hecatolite.  Moonstone is an affordable gemstone that is well known since ancient times. With a hardness of 6 to 6.5, It is polished as cabochons and used as beads, pendants and also in rings and earrings. 

It is believed that Moonstone is a stone of inner growth and strength. It soothes emotional instability and stress, and stabilises the emotions, providing calmness. It enhances intuition, promotes inspiration, success and good fortune in love and business matters.
