65 nm technology
Compared to the previous MSI 8800 Series, the MSI NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC comes with the advanced 65nm wafering technology. This technology increased the stream processors inside from 96 to 112 units compared to the former NVIDIA 8800 GPU. Not only the performance of the graphic card has improved, this technology effectively reduces heat. The MSI NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC is a single slot fan solution, combined with the 65nm technology this graphic card is a low noise solution.
PCI Express 2.0 interface supported
MSI takes the lead in launching the MSI NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC with PCI Express 2.0 support to meet the demands for higher data throughput of future graphics computing. PCI Express 2.0 provides two times the bandwidth compared to the previous generation. The MSI NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC is backwards compatible with the current PCI Express generation. “New generation graphic cards should only support 3D acceleration for game titles but also enhance the capability of HD video or movie content playback,” said Vincent Lai, MSI Marketing director. “From the last generation GeForce® 8800 GPU support PureVideoTM video acceleration technology, we are very glad to see the latest MSI NX8800GT Series fully supports NVIDIA® PureVideoTM HD technology, and thanks to NVIDIA brings this great tech to the high-end GPU product line.”
Shader OC
The MSI NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC is equipped with unified shader processing unit (Stream Processors) to simultaneously handle 3D modeling/pixel rendering in a more flexible way. These Stream Processors execute instructions and mapping textures at about two times the default GPU core clock. If the ratio of the Stream Processor clock (Shader Clock) is raised over the GPU core clock, the performance of the graphic card can be boosted without generating too much heat.
NVIDIA PureVideo2 Technology
To deliver the ultimate HD movie experience when playing Blu-ray and HD-DVD NVIDIA developed PureVideo2 Technology. With this technology the MSI NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC delivers superb picture quality for all video formats as well as stunning HD DVD and Blu-Ray movies with low CPU utilization and using less power consumption.
