Mtunzini Forest lodge is situated outside Mtunzini, a 80 minutes drive from Durban. The cosy log cabins with their comfortable interiors are nestled in the indigenous sand forest and offer a rustic “tree house” experience, situated within the lush vegetation of Northern KwaZulu Natal. The sound of the sea can be heard in the distance, adding to the peaceful ambiance.
Mtunzini Forest Lodge is featured on the Zululand Birding Route. A bird watchers paradise - experience many bird species in the splendour of this tranquil and peaceful forest. The magnificent Raphia Palms "The King of the Palms" are unique to the Mtunzini area, and are home to the very rare Palmnut Vulture. An easy stroll along a magnificent wooden bridge which crosses the Siyayi River takes one directly to the unspoilt beaches. Guests can enjoy the serene atmosphere whilst fishing or walking along the shores of the east coast of Africa.
Each chalet is fully equipped and offers a private sundeck with a barbeque area. Chalets are serviced daily.
