Dual View Decoder
In mid-February 2003 MultiChoice launched the new Dual View decoder as part of its continued effort to improve the viewing experience of subscribers. The Dual View decoder enables viewers to watch two different DStv channels simultaneously on two different television sets.
Dual Viewing offers more value, enjoyment and convenience for DStv subscribers. The ability to watch two different DStv channels using a single decoder is only possible when you use the special Dual View decoder, or PVR. It is not possible to watch two channels simultaneously using any other kind of decoder.
DStv subscribers' existing satellite dish installation setup can be adapted to work with the Dual View decoder by installing either an external splitter or a second LNB. The second LNB is the recommended option and it is suggested that an accredited installer be used to install Dual View. Dual View has the capacity to damage down stream equipment connected on the TV2 RF output port if not correctly installed.
Interactive applications are available on the Dual View, which supports the existing modem and keyboard. However, these interactive applications are only available in the primary (TV1) environment.

In order for MultiChoice to transfer my smartcard to your account, I will provide you with a letter stating the transfer of decoder ownership, my physical address, ID, DSTV account, decoder and smartcard details. MultiChoice will need a second letter from yourself stating your acceptance of the decoder. Both these letters and copies of our ID books must be faxed to MultiChoice on 011-577-4905. The decoder will be activated within 3 days of MultiChoice receiving the fax.
