This rare and museum-worthy bronze medallion, crafted in 1828 by the renowned French sculptor Pierre-Jean David d'Angers (17881856), features a striking portrait of Giuditta Pasta (17981865), the celebrated Italian opera singer.

David d'Angers, known for his meticulously executed portrait medallions, dedicated himself to immortalizing figures he deemed historically and artistically significant. His works are held in esteemed institutions, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The medallion bears an intricate, high-relief depiction of Giuditta Pasta, signed and dated DAVID / 1828, with the inscription GIUDITTA PASTA DI MILANO. around the edge. The brown patina enhances its depth and character, reflecting its age and authenticity.
