MUSICAL BIRD BOX BY KARL GRIESBAUM

Seldom available, rare & highly collectable. On offer is this circa 1930/40's musical bird box attributed to Karl Griesbaum. Extensively decorated with hand painted enamel on a gilt metal body. This example is very similar to model 7 in the catalogue shown on Wikipedia. No. 7 was their most expensive model and was also offered in silver. There are numerous examples very similar to this on the internet.

This one has minor gilding wear around the top and on the corners. The enamel is in very good condition - the white spots are reflections from the light when photographed.
