As the name suggests, the Komatsuna is a staple green in Japan. There is a small difference between Komatsuna and Spinach, being that spinach has red-tinged roots and pointy- arrow shaped leaves while Komatsuna has bulkier white roots and rounded leaves.
The tender leaves and stems can be eaten raw or cooked.
Mustard Spinach Japanese Komatsuna is an annual leaf crop that is full of beta carotene, vitamin C, calcium and iron. The leaves are bright green in colour and is not drooping, torn or any other colour.
