Natal 1895 (MR 20) Coleman Provisional Envelope. For five days only from 18-23 March (excl 19) following a shortage of ½d stamps the Durban Postmaster J W Coleman was authorised to sell prepared and signed envelopes indicating receipt of ½d in cash for local delivery. Covers were endorsed in manuscript "One Half Penny received in money", signed by the Postmaster with his "Postmaster of Durban" cachet below. Folded and foxing as is often found on these covers. Scarce.
