NATURAL ROSE QUARTZ PENDANT AND FACETED RED GARNET

The pendant of this necklace is absolutely beautiful! It has been carved into a hibiscus flower shape out of natural rose quartz and in the light, shows ethereal and really pretty inclusions. The jeweller has finished the flower shape pendant with a deep red natural garnet, round faced and claw-set. I was puzzled by the differences in colour between the pendant and the strand part of the necklace so I had the piece jeweller tested. The pendant is definitely natural rose quartz but I can't make out what the rest of the necklace is made out of. I suspect they are just beads although they bear a resemblance to moonstone. They are opaque not solid and present different hues and inclusions - but I can't guarantee what the material is. The entire piece has been strung rather than fastened with links. It is a vintage piece. Rather different, very pretty and extremely feminine!
