NATURAL TANZANITE 9CT YELLOW GOLD RING. 375 BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED DISPLAY OF TANZANITES!

This elegant English piece is beautifully crafted in 9ct yellow gold, the marquise shaped ring head a big display of natural tanzanites - 25 of them, all round cut and claw set. The tanzanites are a gorgeous soft lilac, against which the warm yellow gold provides a complimentary touch. The ring head measures 18mm long x 12mm wide, and reaches a splendid 7mm above the finger. The slender polished shank has an interesting feature on the shoulders of the piece, where the shank thickens vertically to support the two long points of the marquise shape of the ring head. The tanzanites themselves are set on elongated claws, creating a beautiful gilded cage effect with the openwork maximising the light through the gemstones. The piece weighs a solid 3,3 grams, and sits comfortably and snugly on the finger. The pedigree of the gram piece is evident in the many hallmarks - the 375 hallmark indicating 9ct gold, the date hallmark for 2000, and the Birmingham Assay mark. I obtained the piece from a favourite vintage jeweller in England.
