Tanzanite is a rare gem discovered in the second half of the 20th century and has a cut and polished value of between 50 and 750 USD per carat. When cutting an uncut precious stone like tanzanite the recovery percentage will usually be around 25%. This 14 carat stone could therefore be expected to yield polished stones of 3,5 carats +.
