Nautilus natural polished enormous size, hard to find in this size and excellent condition.

 

Common name is 'Chambered nautilus' The scientific name is Nautilus pompilius and it was described/named in 1758 by Linnaeus. The size is 18 cm and stands 14 cm high, over 8.5 cm wide. The nautilus shell has been carefully polished to perfection, keeping the natural markings intact . The most beautiful and inspiring shape of nature. Makes a nice gift and looks great as a decor piece.

The chambers nautilus is a living fossil the genus Nautilus has persisted in the same form for 500 million years. Its predecessor being an ammonite
