The Need for Speed series returns once more, now with its classic high-speed racing formula back in place.

With the exception of ProStreet, the Need for Speed series has always been about fast-paced underground racing, but has often explored other racing ideas within the series. Underground is a true return to roots for the series, placing players in the shoes of the lead character in a film-like action storyline. One of the most thrilling aspects of previous editions was high-speed police chases across open roads, and Undercover brings this feature back to the table, pursuing the player in high-power police cars across the sun soaked highways. Some gameplay modes will also allow player to drive their own selection of powerful police cars.

A number of new game modes have been added to this edition, including Highway Battles - where players race against local traffic and police - and missions based around the main storyline.

Need for Speed - Undercover keeps the glistening graphics and responsive controls of more recent additions to the EA series, but brings back the high-speed police chases older fans of the series have grown up with.
